I painted this between two thunderstorms. Thus the title. I have noticed that the light is crisper and sometimes seems more concentrated right after a good hard rain. These conditions were evident as I painted this piece. The longer I painted the stronger the wind grew, due to the approaching weather system. During the final minutes of the piece, I not only had my large painting bag on the easel to hold in down, I also was literally holding it with my free hand.
